EASSCAN Privacy Policy
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY.
Welcome to EASSCAN.ORG (the “Site” or “Service”), a service provided by EAS Labs LLC ("EASSCAN," "We," "Our," or "Us"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle and protect the information you provide when using our platform.
Your privacy is paramount to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to protect it. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please do not use the Site, or any of our Services
- THE TYPE OF DATA WE COLLECT
- The types of Data that we collect directly from you or from third parties depend on the circumstances of collection and on the nature of the service requested or transaction undertaken. It may include (but is not limited to):
- Access Logs: When you access EASSCAN.ORG, we automatically log the page visited and the IP address. This is solely for monitoring site activity and ensuring platform security and performance.
- Error Logs: We log errors to understand and rectify issues on our platform. This includes the IP address and the accessed page.
- Offchain Attestation Data: If you choose to publish an offchain attestation, we make it available on storage providers like IPFS or Ceramic and index it on EASSCAN. These attestations may include details like the wallet address who made the attestation, recipient (if any), creation time, onchain timestamp if applicable, data about the attestation, expiration time, and revocation status.
- Onchain Attestation Data: All onchain attestations made using Ethereum Attestation Service contracts are indexed to the best of our ability and made available through our API. This data is accessible to anyone using our API, SDK, or EASSCAN Site.
- User Preferences: Features may be introduced allowing users to save certain schemas or attestations for a tailored experience. This data is stored locally on the user’s device, by EASSCAN servers, or on third-party storage solutions.
- EASSCAN does not actively collect, store, or process Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Users should be aware of the inherent risks associated with making public attestations, especially those containing personal or sensitive details.
- MINORS AND AGE RESTRICTED GROUPS
- EASSCAN.ORG does not knowingly collect or store data from minors or any specific age group.
- USER-GENERATED CONTENT AND RESPONSIBILITY
- User Attestations: We are not liable for attestations made by users or third parties. While attestations can be disputed and their removal from our UI requested, we do not control or validate user-generated content.
- Privacy Advocacy: Users are urged to adopt privacy-first practices. EASSCAN provides tools like private data attestations and encourages the use of encrypted data and compliance with relevant laws when handling sensitive information.
- Offchain Data: Offchain data is only made public if the user chooses to disclose it. Users should exercise caution when disclosing information, especially onchain, as it can pertain to themselves or others.
- INDEMNIFICATION
- EASSCAN is a neutral platform that enables attestations. We don't control or endorse attestation content. Users are accountable for their attestations and must ensure legal and best practice compliance. By using our Service, users indemnify EASSCAN against any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from their attestations or misuse of Ethereum Attestation Service.
- USER DATA STORAGE & SHARING
- Local Storage: Offchain attestations are encoded in the URI fragment of the URL and are not stored by EASSCAN but are accessible to users with a valid URL.
- Third-Party Storage Providers: Offchain attestation data may be passed to storage providers like IPFS or Ceramic upon user request.
- User Sharing: Attestations and schemas can be shared via EASSCAN URLs, direct downloads, or onchain references.
- DATA CONTROL AND DELETION
- Notice: We prioritize the safeguarding of your data. While we implement security measures such as secure servers, online transmission is never entirely secure. We urge users to exercise caution, especially when attesting to private information.
- Onchain Data: Data attested onchain is immutable. We can hide it from our UI, but it remains on the blockchain.
- Offchain Data: Offchain attestations can be shared peer-to-peer or stored on services like IPFS or Ceramic. Displayed offchain data about a User can be removed from EASSCAN upon the User requests and violation of our Terms of Service.
- USER RIGHTS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:
- Acknowledgment of Onchain Data: Through use of our Service or indirectly through the use of Ethereum Attestation Service contracts or SDK, users acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with putting information onchain. Once data is attested onchain, it becomes immutable and publicly accessible. Users should exercise caution and discretion when deciding what information to attest, especially onchain.
- Data Removal: Users can request the removal of certain attestations from our UI. However, onchain data, once attested, remains permanent and cannot be deleted or modified. Offchain data can be removed from our servers upon request or disputed with third-party storage providers.
- Disputes: Users can dispute attestations displayed on EASSCAN that they believe violate our Terms and Conditions. Successful disputes will result in the removal of the attestation from the UI. However, this does not affect the permanence of onchain data if the attestation was made onchain.
- THIRD-PARTY RESPONSIBILITY
- EASSCAN is not responsible for the data handling practices or policies of third-party providers like IPFS or Ceramic or other third parties that issue or store attestations. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies and relevant terms of service of these third parties to understand how they manage data or interact with the Ethereum Attestation Service contracts or EASSCAN directly.
- Our Service may contain links to other websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any website they visit.
- CONSENT
- By using our services, User consents to the collection, storage, and use of their data as described in this Privacy Policy.
- UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
- We may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Users are encouraged to review it regularly to stay informed about our data practices.
